How do I upload my documents?

Where do I find my case name and case number?
Santa Clara County mail is sent to your Case Name. Your Case Name and 7-digit Case Number can be found on the upper-right corner.
On an EBT card, your 7-digit Case Number is on the bottom (skip the first two numbers).
What if I do not have a case number or cannot find my case number?
You can submit documents without a case number by entering the following information:).
- Your Date of Birth
- Your Address

Your Subject
If you recently applied or are applying today select New Application.
If you are already receiving public benefits, select Existing Case. -
Which Program
Select all the programs you are applying for or are currently receiving.
- Your Contact Information
If we have a problem identifying your case, we will contact you for additional information.
Will my documents be protected if I upload them?
Yes, your files will be protected in a secure folder where only authorized county staff have access to the files.
What happens to my documents after I upload them into your system?
Your documents will be downloaded by our clerical staff and given to your County Case Worker for processing.
Whom do I contact if I have questions about the documents I submitted?
If you have questions about your documents, contact your County Case Worker.
On County of Santa Clara mail, your County Case Worker's name and telephone number are on the upper-right corner.
How do I receive a confirmation that my documents were uploaded?
When uploading your documents enter your email address. We will email you a confirmation of the documents received.
What benefit programs can I upload documents for?

Can I upload an application or an annual or semi-annual report?
Yes, just follow the instructions. For faster service please include your case number.
What address do I enter if I am homeless?
Enter the address we send mail to, it could be at one of our office locations.
What if I have a special character like an apostrophe (') in my name and I am getting an error message?
If you have an apostrophe (') in your name, please access the portal by doing the following:
- Use a computer, or
- Use a non-iOS (Apple) device (such as Samsung), or
- Remove the apostrophe (') from your name and access the portal using the method listed above
What if I do not have a case number or cannot find my case number?
If you are using an iPhone or iPad with iOS 11 and newer:
- Disable the “Smart Punctuation” on your iOS device by:
- Go to Settings
- Select General
- Select Keyboard
- Turn off “Smart Punctuation”
- Go back into the portal using the apostrophe in your name.
What file types and sizes can I upload?
Upload Documents:
- No larger than 8 MB
- No files that are password protected or restricted
- The file name should contain less than 100 characters
- In one of these formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png.
- File name can only contain letters, numbers, spaces, and these symbols: ! @ $ _ - + ( ) [ ] { } , . ~
